| Marciana Graciela Chao Carbonero |
Begining her teaching work as a dance instructor in 1961, Auxiliar Professor Marciana Graciela Chao Carbonero has a vast experience of over 30 years of work. As a dance professional, she has developed a hard work as a dancer, coreographer, reseracher and professor. She is also one of the founders of the amateur movement and of the Art Schools where she created programs of study on Cuban and Latin folklore, as well as of a Methodology for the Teaching of Folklore.
In 1987 she became a member of the commission which elaborated the Model for Specialists, the Plan of Studies and the Program for Bachelor Degrees on Folkloric Dances at the Faculty of Dance Art of the Higher Institute of Art. Besides she was Head of the Folkloric Dance Department of that same institution until 1995.
She was a founder of the Isadanza Folkloric Ballet in 1991 where she worked as art director and choreographer. With this ballet company she toured several Brazilian states such as Sao Paulo, Riveron Preto and Pasos de Calda.
She has carried out an important research in the field of folkloric dance and has participated in national and international events like Teaching Weeks, Scientific Conferences at ISA, Symposiums on Folkloric Dance, Latin American Meetings for Teaching and others.
