Founded by Concepción Castro in 1932, Anacaona was the first septet of Cuban son conformed by women, which became later on in jazz band and typical charanga.
Today Anacaona is formed by thirteen women cultivating the popular music blending traditional and contemporary rhythms.
Well-known in Cuba as Las Mulatísimas del Sabor, they are considered one of the major female exponents of Cuban popular music due to its singular sonority, favorably assessed by the critic and dancers from all over the world. |

His name is César de las Mercedes Pedroso Fernández, but everbody call him “Pupy”, composer, arranger, writer, pianist and director.
Cesar "Pupy" Pedroso, he had already earned a place within the Cuban musical history as pianist, arranger and composer of Los Van Van, during 32 years, but as a permanent hunter of new ideas and restless composer he founded his own group.
In this way, Los que son Son saw the light and made its bow in 2001 and since then, they are among the major popular orchestras of the country.

Founded in 1956 by Master Elio Revé Matos, relevant personality from Cuban music, the orchestra " Elio Revé y su Charangón'' is, since many years ago, one of the major Cuban groups boasting huge prestige in Cuba and overseas places.
Its creator, faithful exponent of the best values of Cuban music, was catalogued as the Father of Changüí", due to the valuable contributions he made to this rhythm, besides being one of its greatest cultivators.
Since 1997, the orchestra is leaded by his son Elito Revé, who has renovated the orchestra keeping its traditional sonority and popularity achieved in 50 years of its creation. |
